Based on a comparison of 121 countries in 2016, China ranked the highest in CO2 emissions from solid fuel consumption with 6,951,653 kt followed by India and USA. On the other end of the scale was Syria with 3.67 kt, Azerbaijan with 3.67 kt and Armenia with 3.67 kt.

Average CO2 emissions from solid fuel consumption reached 14,268 kt in 2016 in the World according to World Bank / EIA. This is 2.43 % more than in the previous year and 21.9 % more than 10 years ago.
