Youth dependency ratio fell 3.82% to 77.5% in Nigeria in 2022, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, youth dependency ratio in Nigeria reached an all time high of 86.9% in 1987 and an all time low of 73.6% in 1961. When compared to Nigeria's main peers, youth dependency ratio in Benin amounted to 65.2%, 67.6% in Cameroon, 84.5% in Chad and 101% in Niger in 2022.
