Historically, arable land per capita in Laos reached an all time high of 2,951 sqm in 1961 and an all time low of 1,652 sqm in 1996. When compared to Laos's main peers, arable land per capita in Cambodia amounted to 2,651 sqm, 788 sqm in China, 2,414 sqm in Thailand and 703 sqm in Vietnam in 2014.
