Artichoke production reached 2,275 tonnes in 2016 in Cyprus, according to Faostat. This is 10.3 % more than in the previous year.
Historically, artichoke production in Cyprus reached an all time high of 5,588 tonnes in 1971 and an all time low of 2,062 tonnes in 2015. When compared to Cyprus's main peers, artichoke production in Egypt amounted to 236,314 tonnes, 13,211 tonnes in Greece, 2,693 tonnes in Israel and 36,368 tonnes in Turkey in 2016.
