Historically, bank assets as a share of GDP in Albania reached an all time high of 95.6 % in 2016 and an all time low of 40.9 % in 1996. When compared to Albania's main peers, bank assets as a share of GDP in Greece amounted to 144 %, 59.4 % in Kosovo, 70.7 % in Macedonia and 105 % in Montenegro in 2017.
