Bank assets as a share of GDP reached 58.5 % in 2018 in Bangladesh, according to the National Central Bank. This is 1.94 % less than in the previous year.
Historically, bank assets as a share of GDP in Bangladesh reached an all time high of 61.8 % in 2014 and an all time low of 22.5 % in 1994. When compared to Bangladesh's main peers, bank assets as a share of GDP in Bhutan amounted to 81.2 %, 85.9 % in India and 64.6 % in Myanmar in 2018.
