Historically, cocoa bean production in Sierra Leone reached an all time high of 24,200 tonnes in 1989 and an all time low of 2,840 tonnes in 1961. When compared to Sierra Leone's main peers, cocoa bean production in Guinea amounted to 14,181 tonnes and 6,745 tonnes in Liberia in 2016.
