Costs of bank liabilities reached 2.56 % in 2017 in Malaysia, according to the National Central Bank. This is 2.30 % less than in the previous year.
Historically, costs of bank liabilities in Malaysia reached an all time high of 3.43 % in 2007 and an all time low of 2.35 % in 2009. When compared to Malaysia's main peers, costs of bank liabilities in Cambodia amounted to 3.49 % and 1.44 % in Thailand in 2017.
Malaysia has been ranked 20th within the group of 63 countries we follow in terms of costs of bank liabilities, 19 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
