Based on a comparison of 22 countries in 2016, Italy ranked the highest in final stocks of PGI wine with 11,615 1,000 hl followed by France and Spain. On the other end of the scale was Luxembourg with 2.00 1,000 hl, Finland with 4.00 1,000 hl and Estonia with 7.00 1,000 hl.
