Historically, fish consumption per capita in Greece reached an all time high of 24.9 kg in 1997 and an all time low of 13.3 kg in 1972. When compared to Greece's main peers, fish consumption per capita in Albania amounted to 5.70 kg, 6.60 kg in Bulgaria, 5.70 kg in Macedonia and 7.40 kg in Turkey in 2013.
