Historically, fish consumption per capita in Iraq reached an all time high of 4.30 kg in 1979 and an all time low of 0.770 kg in 2003. When compared to Iraq's main peers, fish consumption per capita in Iran amounted to 8.10 kg, 15.8 kg in Kuwait and 8.20 kg in Saudi Arabia in 2013.
