Historically, fish consumption per capita in Tanzania reached an all time high of 16.4 kg in 1988 and an all time low of 5.09 kg in 2008. When compared to Tanzania's main peers, fish consumption per capita in Kenya amounted to 3.90 kg, 7.80 kg in Mozambique, 13.2 kg in Uganda and 6.90 kg in Zambia in 2013.
