Historically, total fish consumption in Nigeria reached an all time high of 2,805 kt in 2011 and an all time low of 146 kt in 1962. When compared to Nigeria's main peers, total fish consumption in Benin amounted to 138 kt, 377 kt in Cameroon, 58.8 kt in Chad and 35.5 kt in Niger in 2013.
