Foreign exchange reserves, including gold in terms of months of imports reached 3.68 months in 2021 in the European Union, according to the National Statistical Office. This is 15.5% less than in the previous year.

Historically, foreign exchange reserves, including gold in terms of months of imports in the European Union reached an all time high of 6.32 months in 1979 and an all time low of 1.85 months in 2008.
