Foreign trade as a share of GDP reached 79.2 % in 2017 in Kosovo, according to the National Statistical Office. This is 6.12 % more than in the previous year.
Historically, foreign trade as a share of GDP in Kosovo reached an all time high of 81.6 % in 2011 and an all time low of 52.2 % in 2002. When compared to Kosovo's main peers, foreign trade as a share of GDP in Albania amounted to 78.1 %, 125 % in Macedonia, 106 % in Montenegro and 114 % in Serbia in 2017.
Kosovo has been ranked 77th within the group of 165 countries we follow in terms of foreign trade as a share of GDP, 35 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
Trade is the sum of exports and imports of goods and services measured as a share of gross domestic product.
