Foreign trade as a share of GDP reached 82.0 % in 2018 in Kosovo, according to the National Statistical Office. This is 4.05 % less than in the previous year.
Historically, foreign trade as a share of GDP in Kosovo reached an all time high of 85.5 % in 2019 and an all time low of 52.2 % in 2002. When compared to Kosovo's main peers, foreign trade as a share of GDP in Albania amounted to 76.9 %, 133 % in Macedonia, 110 % in Montenegro and 109 % in Serbia in 2018.
Kosovo has been ranked 77th within the group of 163 countries we follow in terms of foreign trade as a share of GDP, 33 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
Trade is the sum of exports and imports of goods and services measured as a share of gross domestic product.
