Foreign trade as a share of GDP reached 106 % in 2017 in Montenegro, according to the National Statistical Office. This is 1.82 % more than in the previous year.
Historically, foreign trade as a share of GDP in Montenegro reached an all time high of 132 % in 2008 and an all time low of 71.7 % in 2003. When compared to Montenegro's main peers, foreign trade as a share of GDP in Albania amounted to 78.1 %, 94.6 % in Bosnia and Herzegovina, 99.9 % in Croatia and 114 % in Serbia in 2017.
