Historically, government expenditure as a share of GDP in Uzbekistan reached an all time high of 40.5 % in 1993 and an all time low of 18.5 % in 1992. When compared to Uzbekistan's main peers, government expenditure as a share of GDP in Kazakhstan amounted to 20.2 %, 34.2 % in Kyrgyzstan, 29.5 % in Tajikistan and 13.6 % in Turkmenistan in 2019.
