Gross capital formation as a share of GDP reached 26.8 % in 2019 in Kazakhstan, according to the National Statistical Office. This is 5.93 % more than in the previous year.
Historically, gross capital formation as a share of GDP in Kazakhstan reached an all time high of 40.9 % in 1992 and an all time low of 15.6 % in 1997. When compared to Kazakhstan's main peers, gross capital formation as a share of GDP in China amounted to 43.1 %, 27.7 % in Kyrgyzstan, 23.1 % in Russia and 39.8 % in Uzbekistan in 2019.
Kazakhstan has been ranked 48th within the group of 169 countries we follow in terms of gross capital formation as a share of GDP, 12 places behind the position seen 10 years ago.
