Insurance and financial services as a percentage of service imports from the balance of payment reached 1.62 % in 2018 in Myanmar, according to the National Central Bank / OECD. This is 1.05 % less than in the previous year.

Historically, insurance and financial services as a percentage of service imports from the balance of payment in Myanmar reached an all time high of 11.0 % in 1992 and an all time low of 0.477 % in 1995. When compared to Myanmar's main peers, insurance and financial services as a percentage of service imports from the balance of payment in China amounted to 2.59 %, 4.51 % in India, 3.17 % in Laos and 6.07 % in Thailand in 2018.
