Interest rate on bank loans reached 5.06 % in 2016 in Malta, according to the National Central Bank. This is 1.86 % less than in the previous year.
Historically, interest rate on bank loans in Malta reached an all time high of 8.50 % in 1989 and an all time low of 4.47 % in 2009. When compared to Malta's main peers, interest rate on bank loans in Greece amounted to 7.65 % and 3.50 % in Italy in 2016.
