Interest rate on bank loans reached 16.4 % in 2017 in Ukraine, according to the National Central Bank. This is 14.8 % less than in the previous year.
Historically, interest rate on bank loans in Ukraine reached an all time high of 250 % in 1994 and an all time low of 13.9 % in 2007. When compared to Ukraine's main peers, interest rate on bank loans in Romania amounted to 5.56 % and 10.6 % in Russia in 2017.
Ukraine has been ranked 22nd within the group of 110 countries we follow in terms of interest rate on bank loans, 34 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
