Historically, number of international tourist arrivals in Italy reached an all time high of 61.6 mil in 2018 and an all time low of 31.1 mil in 1995. When compared to Italy's main peers, number of international tourist arrivals in Austria amounted to 30.8 mil, 89.3 mil in France, 4.43 mil in Slovenia and 10.4 mil in Switzerland in 2018.
