Historically, number of international tourist arrivals in Turkey reached an all time high of 39.8 mil in 2014 and an all time low of 6.89 mil in 1999. When compared to Turkey's main peers, number of international tourist arrivals in Bulgaria amounted to 8.88 mil, 27.2 mil in Greece and 4.87 mil in Iran in 2017.
