Number of international tourist arrivals reached 2.42 mil in 2017 in Zimbabwe, according to Eurostat. This is 11.8 % more than in the previous year.
Historically, number of international tourist arrivals in Zimbabwe reached an all time high of 2.51 mil in 2007 and an all time low of 1.34 mil in 1997. When compared to Zimbabwe's main peers, number of international tourist arrivals in Mozambique amounted to 1.45 mil, 10.3 mil in South Africa and 1.08 mil in Zambia in 2017.
Zimbabwe has been ranked 79th within the group of 149 countries we follow in terms of number of international tourist arrivals, 22 places behind the position seen 10 years ago.
The number of international tourists who travel to a country other than that in which they have their usual residence, but outside their usual environment, for a period not exceeding 12 months and whose main purpose in visiting is other than an activity remunerated from within the country visited.
