Lard production reached 82,832 tonnes in 2014 in Portugal, according to Faostat. This is 6.23 % more than in the previous year.
Historically, lard production in Portugal reached an all time high of 86,974 tonnes in 2010 and an all time low of 15,661 tonnes in 1964. When compared to Portugal's main peers, lard production in France amounted to 131,800 tonnes, 11,300 tonnes in Ireland, 31.0 tonnes in Morocco and 800 tonnes in Spain in 2014.
