Historically, lignite coal production in Thailand reached an all time high of 25,837 kt in 1997 and an all time low of 1,618 kt in 1980. When compared to Thailand's main peers, lignite coal production in Laos amounted to 362 kt, 188 kt in Malaysia and 357 kt in Myanmar in 2015.
