Historically, maize production in Uruguay reached an all time high of 693 kt in 2013 and an all time low of 60.2 kt in 1989. When compared to Uruguay's main peers, maize production in Argentina amounted to 39,793 kt, 64,143 kt in Brazil, 1,174 kt in Chile and 5,152 kt in Paraguay in 2016.
