Merchandise trade as a share of GDP reached 82.8 % in 2017 in Mozambique, according to the National Statistical Office. This is 6.54 % more than in the previous year.
Historically, merchandise trade as a share of GDP in Mozambique reached an all time high of 88.2 % in 2013 and an all time low of 11.2 % in 1985. When compared to Mozambique's main peers, merchandise trade as a share of GDP in Malawi amounted to 54.4 %, 54.5 % in South Africa, 25.7 % in Tanzania and 61.8 % in Zambia in 2017.
