Number of bank employees reached 8,922 persons in 2017 in Lithuania, according to the National Central Bank. This is 3.23 % more than in the previous year.
Historically, number of bank employees in Lithuania reached an all time high of 11,080 persons in 2008 and an all time low of 7,266 persons in 2004. When compared to Lithuania's main peers, number of bank employees in Estonia amounted to 4,920 persons and 8,492 persons in Latvia in 2017.
Lithuania has been ranked 27th within the group of 30 countries we follow in terms of number of bank employees, 13 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
