Number of new executive cars sold reached 602 thousand in 2016 in Germany, according to ACEA. This is 11.1 % more than in the previous year.
Historically, number of new executive cars sold in Germany reached an all time high of 629 thousand in 2007 and an all time low of 486 thousand in 2009. When compared to Germany's main peers, number of new executive cars sold in Austria amounted to 48.3 thousand, 81.8 thousand in Belgium and 140 thousand in France in 2016.
Germany has been ranked 2nd within the group of 19 countries we follow in terms of number of new executive cars sold.
The popularity of the executive car segment has been gradually declining in Europe over the last two decades.
