Historically, oil palm fruit production in Costa Rica reached an all time high of 1,304 kt in 2013 and an all time low of 21.5 kt in 1961. When compared to Costa Rica's main peers, oil palm fruit production in Guatemala amounted to 2,103 kt, 2,046 kt in Honduras, 50.5 kt in Nicaragua and 49.1 kt in Panama in 2016.
