Onion consumption per capita reached 0.900 kg in 2013 in Hong Kong, according to Faostat. This is 25 % less than in the previous year.
Historically, onion consumption per capita in Hong Kong reached an all time high of 2.63 kg in 1996 and an all time low of 0.650 kg in 2008. When compared to Hong Kong's main peers, onion consumption per capita in China amounted to 14.0 kg, 9.60 kg in Singapore, 4.20 kg in Taiwan and 5.14 kg in Vietnam in 2013.
