Pig meat production reached 22,384 kt in 2014 in European Union, according to Faostat. This is 2.38 % more than in the previous year.
Historically, pig meat production in European Union reached an all time high of 22,965 kt in 2010 and an all time low of 9,440 kt in 1961. When compared to European Union's main peers, pig meat production in China amounted to 49,953 kt, 1,282 kt in Japan, 2,448 kt in Russia and 9,871 kt in USA in 2014.
