Historically, potato consumption per capita in Turkey reached an all time high of 79.1 kg in 1999 and an all time low of 38.2 kg in 1961. When compared to Turkey's main peers, potato consumption per capita in Bulgaria amounted to 27.5 kg, 72.4 kg in Greece, 17.9 kg in Iraq and 50.6 kg in Iran in 2013.
