Production of green chilli and pepper reached 61.8 kt in 2016 in Ethiopia, according to Faostat. This is 22.3 % more than in the previous year.
Historically, production of green chilli and pepper in Ethiopia reached an all time high of 402 kt in 2012 and an all time low of 50.5 kt in 2015. When compared to Ethiopia's main peers, production of green chilli and pepper in Kenya amounted to 2.84 kt and 38.1 kt in Sudan in 2016.
Ethiopia has been ranked 38th within the group of 112 countries we follow in terms of production of green chilli and pepper, 20 places behind the position seen 10 years ago.
