Production of green chilli and pepper reached 56.2 kt in 2016 in Sri Lanka, according to Faostat. This is 2.46 % more than in the previous year.
Historically, production of green chilli and pepper in Sri Lanka reached an all time high of 106 kt in 1986 and an all time low of 11.0 kt in 1961. When compared to Sri Lanka's main peers, production of green chilli and pepper in India amounted to 67.9 kt, 43.7 kt in Malaysia and 0.112 kt in Maldives in 2016.
