Historically, production of dates in Niger reached an all time high of 37,794 tonnes in 2009 and an all time low of 3,000 tonnes in 1961. When compared to Niger's main peers, production of dates in Algeria amounted to 1,029,596 tonnes, 19,989 tonnes in Chad, 173,546 tonnes in Libya and 698 tonnes in Mali in 2016.
