Production of motor vehicles reached 1,435 thousand in 2020 in Russia, according to ACEA. This is 16.6 % less than in the previous year.
Historically, production of motor vehicles in Russia reached an all time high of 2,232 thousand in 2012 and an all time low of 725 thousand in 2009. When compared to Russia's main peers, production of motor vehicles in China amounted to 25,225 thousand, 3,742 thousand in Germany, 8,068 thousand in Japan and 8,822 thousand in USA in 2020.
Russia has been ranked 11th within the group of 50 countries we follow in terms of production of motor vehicles, 5 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
Motor vehicles include cars, buses, and freight vehicles but do not include two-wheelers.
