Historically, production of rye and meslin in Belgium reached an all time high of 10.6 kt in 1986 and an all time low of 1.50 kt in 1999. When compared to Belgium's main peers, production of rye and meslin in France amounted to 116 kt, 5,011 kt in Germany, 4.80 kt in Luxembourg and 17.0 kt in Netherlands in 2001.
