Production of vegetables and melons reached 1,631 kt in 2014 in Australia, according to Faostat. This is 18.4 % less than in the previous year.
Historically, production of vegetables and melons in Australia reached an all time high of 2,081 kt in 2001 and an all time low of 665 kt in 1961. When compared to Australia's main peers, production of vegetables and melons in Indonesia amounted to 11,016 kt, 1,433 kt in Malaysia, 945 kt in New Zealand and 550 kt in Papua New Guinea in 2014.
