Historically, production of primary vegetables in Afghanistan reached an all time high of 1,461 kt in 2016 and an all time low of 291 kt in 1961. When compared to Afghanistan's main peers, production of primary vegetables in Iran amounted to 14,294 kt, 4,914 kt in Pakistan, 1,843 kt in Tajikistan and 787 kt in Turkmenistan in 2016.
