Based on a comparison of 33 countries in 2015, Japan ranked the highest in railway, average distance travelled per capita with 3,294 km followed by Switzerland and Denmark. On the other end of the scale was Albania with 2.21 km, Mexico with 9.36 km and Armenia with 14.9 km.
