Raw silk production reached 126,000 tonnes in 2014 in China, according to Faostat. This is the same as in the previous year.
Historically, raw silk production in China reached an all time high of 126,000 tonnes in 2008 and an all time low of 6,250 tonnes in 1961. When compared to China's main peers, raw silk production in India amounted to 23,679 tonnes and 250 tonnes in Japan in 2014.
