Historically, raw silk production in World reached an all time high of 168,511 tonnes in 2012 and an all time low of 32,503 tonnes in 1961. When compared to World's main peers, raw silk production in China amounted to 126,000 tonnes and 250 tonnes in Japan in 2014.
