Sales of passenger cars reached 22.4 thousand in 2020 in Bulgaria, according to ACEA. This is 36.8 % less than in the previous year.
Historically, sales of passenger cars in Bulgaria reached an all time high of 83.7 thousand in 1993 and an all time low of 15.6 thousand in 2010. When compared to Bulgaria's main peers, sales of passenger cars in Greece amounted to 81.0 thousand, 126 thousand in Romania and 610 thousand in Turkey in 2020.
Bulgaria has been ranked 62nd within the group of 66 countries we follow in terms of sales of passenger cars, 21 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
Passenger cars refer to road motor vehicles, other than two-wheelers, intended for the carriage of passengers and designed to seat no more than nine people (including the driver).
