Sales of passenger cars reached 799 thousand in 2019 in Indonesia, according to ACEA. This is 9.08 % less than in the previous year.

Historically, sales of passenger cars in Indonesia reached an all time high of 880 thousand in 2013 and an all time low of 58.0 thousand in 1998. When compared to Indonesia's main peers, sales of passenger cars in Australia amounted to 799 thousand, 550 thousand in Malaysia, 273 thousand in Philippines and 76.5 thousand in Singapore in 2019.

Indonesia has been ranked 16th within the group of 140 countries we follow in terms of sales of passenger cars, 9 places above the position seen 10 years ago.

Passenger cars refer to road motor vehicles, other than two-wheelers, intended for the carriage of passengers and designed to seat no more than nine people (including the driver).
