Sales of passenger cars reached 13.9 thousand in 2020 in Latvia, according to ACEA. This is 24.0 % less than in the previous year.
Historically, sales of passenger cars in Latvia reached an all time high of 71.5 thousand in 1997 and an all time low of 5.37 thousand in 2009. When compared to Latvia's main peers, sales of passenger cars in Estonia amounted to 18.8 thousand and 40.2 thousand in Lithuania in 2020.
Latvia has been ranked 29th within the group of 31 countries we follow in terms of sales of passenger cars, 69 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
Passenger cars refer to road motor vehicles, other than two-wheelers, intended for the carriage of passengers and designed to seat no more than nine people (including the driver).
