Sales of passenger cars reached 162 thousand in 2019 in Romania, according to ACEA. This is 25.4 % more than in the previous year.
Historically, sales of passenger cars in Romania reached an all time high of 316 thousand in 2007 and an all time low of 57.7 thousand in 2013. When compared to Romania's main peers, sales of passenger cars in Bulgaria amounted to 35.4 thousand, 158 thousand in Hungary, 6.41 thousand in Moldova and 88.4 thousand in Ukraine in 2019.
