Historically, sales of passenger cars in Russia reached an all time high of 2,897 thousand in 2008 and an all time low of 1,240 thousand in 2016. When compared to Russia's main peers, sales of passenger cars in China amounted to 21,444 thousand, 3,607 thousand in Germany, 4,301 thousand in Japan and 4,715 thousand in USA in 2019.
