Historically, sales of passenger cars in Slovakia reached an all time high of 108 thousand in 1996 and an all time low of 41.7 thousand in 1993. When compared to Slovakia's main peers, sales of passenger cars in Austria amounted to 329 thousand, 250 thousand in Czech Republic, 158 thousand in Hungary and 556 thousand in Poland in 2019.
